Warranty / Damage Disclaimer

Warranty coverage is extended to the original purchaser (i.e. Customer) and is non-transferable. Nightscaping is not responsible for stolen or missing items that are left by UPS or any other carrier at the Customers place of business or residence that are not signed for. Please request a delivery signature when ordering if needed.

Lamps and sensitive items with glass inserts are purchased at the Customers own risk. Nightscaping makes every possible effort to carefully wrap and package sensitive parts for the shipping process, however, we are not responsible for any damages as a result of carrier mishandling.

If the packaging is damaged upon receipt, please inspect the items for damage immediately. If any damage has occurred during shipping, the carrier bears the responsibility for this damage and restitution should be sought directly with them. Nightscaping will replace or repair the effected parts at its discretion. Additional charges and shipping fees may apply. If products are received that have been damaged in transit, Nightscaping will help the Customer receive reimbursement from the carrier.

Product Finish and Damage Disclaimer

Nightscaping products are constructed of natural, raw materials such as copper, stainless steel, bronze and high-grade steel which are subject to natural aging over time that will create an aged patina. Naturally, some materials are subject to fading in extreme conditions. Nightscaping’s natural raw steel products will arrive with a “young” finish and you may experience some rust bleeding for a few months until the natural, hardened mature rust finish has set. Please take care not to place the fixture on any surfaces that will be negatively affected by the iron oxide bleeding that may occur through this initial finishing process.

Nightscaping also offers its products with a powder coated finish. This finish is warrantied from defect from a period of 5 years from the date of purchase. Physical damage to the fixtures which results in a chipping of the powder coated finish or incorrect installation procedures may void the finish warranty of the product at Nightscaping’s sole discretion. Powder coated product can be returned to Nightscaping at any point in time for refinishing if desired. Email info@NightscapingUSA.com for pricing and details.

Any product damage resulting from vandalism, negligent abuse or an act of God which is beyond the normal aging and wear of the product determined by Nightscaping to be beyond the ordinary use (excessive) shall void any, and all warranties herein either expressed or implied.

Claims Disclaimer

To replace a product that is suspected of having a warranted defect, the original Customer must contact Nightscaping and obtain a return goods authorization (RGA) and ship FOB destination to the Nightscaping Manufacturing Center identified on the RGA. The original owner must include proof of purchase, original purchaser's name, return address, and a detailed description of the parts or products considered to be defective. The Customer is responsible for the cost of labor to remove, repair, and re-install any product.

Nightscaping reserves the right to have a Nightscaping authorized technician inspect the installation prior to removal of product to verify any defect claim when applicable. If any of the warranted products are found by Nightscaping to be defective, such products will, at Nightscaping’s sole discretion, be replaced, repaired, or refunded less an amount directly attributable to the Customer’s prior use – such use to be calculated as a percentage of published estimated life.

Repaired or replaced product will be returned prepaid according to the shipping information provided by the original Customer as noted on the RGA. The parties hereto expressly agree that Customer’s sole and exclusive remedy against Nightscaping shall be for the repair, replacement, or refund of defective products as provided herein.

This warranty extends only to product ownership by original purchaser (i.e. Customer) and is not transferable whether to heirs, subsequent owners, or otherwise. This warranty does not cover labor or any other expenses to remove or install any defective, repaired, or replaced product.

This warranty does not apply to any products that have been subject to misuse, mishandling, misapplication, neglect (including but not limited to improper maintenance), accident, improper installation, acts of God, improper packaging of returned products, modification, lightning strikes, voltage surges, or operating voltages in excess of +/ – 10% of the standard supply voltage of 120 volts or 230/240 volts AC, 50/60 Hz.

The forgoing warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied including those of merchantability, fitness, or for any particular purpose or infringement. Original Customer shall in no event be entitled to, and Nightscaping shall not be liable for, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any nature, including, but not limited to, loss of profit, injury to reputation, and/or loss of customers. No employee or agent of Nightscaping may extend, modify, and /or change the terms of this warranty.

How long can I expect my Nightscaping® weathered steel (rusted) Bollard to last?

All of Nightscaping’s weathered steel fixtures come with a structural lifetime warranty. Nightscaping guarantees that the fixture will not rust through or fail to function normally with proper care for the lifetime of the original owner. Additionally, the fixture’s associated components will function properly with proper care for the lifetime of the original owner.

* Lifetime Guarantee does not cover lamps, metal finishes, or sockets.

Please Note:

Nightscaping’s bollards and path lights are fabricated from heavy gauge, high-grade steel. Powder coated or anodized finishes can be reapplied at some distant time when the original attractive appearance might fade. Consult your local metal finishing expert or return to Nightscaping for a quote.

What will void Nightscaping’s® Lifetime Structural Warranty?

  • The fixture’s metal housing and base have been buried in soil and/or mulch.
    • Note:Concrete piers and ABS/PVC plastic stakes are intended to elevate the light’s metal housing at least ½” inch above soil level. Mulch may be used to hide piers and stakes, but do not cover the fixture’s metal base with soil and/or mulch. This will void the warranty.
  • The finish has been spoiled by direct and frequent spray by sprinklers. This may shorten the fixture life and may reduce the attractive appearance of the finish depending on local water conditions.
  • The fixture’s internal components have been receiving direct and frequent spray from sprinklers. The protective enclosure around the light engine provides protection from normal weather conditions, but not direct rising spray from sprinklers.
  • Steel fixtures installed within 10 miles of salt water. For salt water applications please consider using Nightscaping’s Zinc Plated Powder Coated Bollards/ Path Lights or custom Stainless Steel/Copper Plated Bollard options. For custom Bollards please call Nightscaping.
  • The installation was not properly performed according to installation instructions that accompany the fixtures and are also available on Nightscaping’s website..

How long can I expect my Nightscaping® Zinc Plated Powder Coated Bollard to last?

Nightscaping guarantees the finish for 1 year when the installation is properly performed according to the installation instructions that accompany the fixtures. These instructions are also available on Nightscaping’s website.

  • Nightscaping uses modified preparation and fixture assembly to improve the likelihood of a long-lived powder coat finish. All the bollard’s steel components are zinc plated prior to powder coating to provide a rust resistant base coating. Nightscaping only uses UV resistant powders.
  • The average life for a powder coat finish is approximately 5-10 years (depending on the environment where it is installed), at which time our heavy gauge fixtures can be media blasted and re-finished to a new state of condition.
  • Nightscaping urges you to consider our naturally weathered steel finish which will maintain its attractive earthly appearance for your lifetime and beyond. The only exception may be salt spray occurring within a marine setting. The natural rust finish is a “living finish” and is always renewing itself. Rust has texture depth, dimension and variations that applied finishes do not offer!

What if my Nightscaping® Bollard fails under normal wear and tear?

If the fixture’s housing, finish and/or socket assembly fail under normal conditions and proper care, the fixture must be returned by the original owner or purchaser for inspection by Nightscaping. The fixture will be replaced, or repaired and returned if the fault is found to be in the materials and/or workmanship.

A RGA# is required for return. Any returns that do not have a RGA# will be refused by our shipping department.

Nightscaping® - Powder Coated Bollards

Nightscaping’s® luminaires can be powder coated in virtually any color or texture your project demands. All Nightscaping’s® powder coated fixtures undergo a complete media blasting to clean the surface of the product prior to the application of a zinc plating to galvanize the surface of the steel. The zinc plating process provides a superior surface for the powder coating to bond with and it also provides greater corrosion resistance than simply powder coating over raw steel.

Due to the added steps required for a custom color finish (other than Nightscaping’s® standard Bronze powder coat finish) there is a minimum setup fee of $750. The $750 setup fee includes media blasting the material, zinc plating the fixture parts to prepare them for your custom color option. An additional 10% surcharge will be added to Nightscaping’s® standard bronze powder coat pricing to account for the added steps to custom powder coat the luminaires.

**Please add 5-6 weeks for custom colors.

Nightscaping® - Metal Plated Bollards

Nightscaping’s® luminaires can be plated in many different metal finishes. The plating process not only provides a beautiful finish but also provides a superior surface that will last for many years to come.

Due to the added steps required for a custom plating there is a minimum setup fee of $500. The $500 setup fee includes media blasting the material and plating the fixture parts in your desired metal finish. An additional 30% surcharge will be added to Nightscaping’s® standard pricing to account for the added steps to custom plating the luminaires.

**Please add 5-6 weeks for custom plating.

Please email photos or drawings of specific ideas to info@nightscapingusa.com.  Nightscaping’s Custom Design Fee starts at $1000. The $1000 fee (which is paid in advance) includes a $750 Industrialization Fee and a $250 Design Fee.

Details on the Custom Design Fee:

  • If 3D prints are required during the design phase, Nightscaping has the ability to produce “live samples” for the customer to see before finalizing. 3D prints are not included in the Custom Design Fee. The 3D prints range in cost depending on the size of the prints required.
  • The $750 Industrialization Fee includes CNC programming and setup time for the custom bollards.
